JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

A Mechanical-Automation CAD Designer is responsible for mechanical and packaging design of new programs. The design range will include fixture design, automated assembly equipment design, Material Handling Design, and Robotic Processing Cell Design.  Must be responsible for Program and Timeline Management and communicate with Management, Production, and Customers over specifications and procedures.

Essential Duites/Responsibilities:

  • Utilize 3D CAD software to produce fixture and machine design packages.
  • Responsible for individual project management.
  • Ensure all Equipment Design is meeting the standards to produce quality products.
  • Support Assembly & Runoff activities.
  • Manage project implementation timelines and schedules.
  • Liaison with Customers and Component Suppliers.
  • Support Machining and Assembly processes.

Competency/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Capabilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Detail oriented to ensure first time fitment.
  • Understanding of basic equipment functions and electrical components.
  • Confident and Professional Speaking abilities (and experience).
  • Basic understanding of Blueprints (Drawings).
  • Must be organized and self-motivated to work toward completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Familiar with Autodesk Inventor or other 3-D design programs.
  • Exposure to design techniques, tools and principals involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project timelines and management.  Work with other departments to ensure project completion.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced, and often pressured, work environment.
  • Some Hand-on work is to be expected.
  • Require use of PPE such as safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Majority of work will be performed within the Phoenix Technologies.  Some onsite visits and installations will be required.

Physical Effort:

  • Must be able to lift 30-50lbs.
  • Must be able to work at different height levels while servicing equipment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

Position/Hours: 

  • This is a first shift position.
  • Overtime would be as required.

Travel:

  • Some Traveling and overnight stays may be required. (20-25%)

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred, but not required.
  • 2+ of Work Experience in similar Role/Field preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of CAD system and design packaging.

  • Assembly of custom automation equipment, Tooling, and Fixtures.
  • Fabrication (Machining, welding, cutting)
  • Project management(schedules)
  • Technology Integration (Vision, Robotics, Leak Testing)
  • Communication with other departments and customers.
  • Installation at Customers Facility and On-site Assembly.
  • Support Facility Maintenance and general housekeeping.

Essential Duites/Responsibilities:

  • The assembly of projects.
  • Responsible for time management.
  • Ensure proper fitment and functionality.
  • Support Runoff activities.
  • Communication with internal departments with issues and time critical matter.
  • Machining and fabrication activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Person would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Operating a CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe.
  • Setup of Work Holding devices on CNC’s.
  • Programming of CNC’s for detail machining.
  • Setup of Tools in CNC’s.
  • Manual Machining processes.
  • Perform Quality Checks.
  • Blueprint and Drawing Reading.
  • Project Time Management.
  • Machine Maintenance and area cleaning.
  • Constant process improvements.
  • Communication with other departments and customers.
  • Support Assembly in possible rework machining.

Competency/Skills:

  • 2+ years of CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe Experience.
  • Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar programming experience is required.
  • Versed in using Micrometers, Calipers, and other measurement devices.
  • Versed in reading/interpreting blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of Machining Processes and Capabilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
